Time Standards

We hope that all CMSA swimmers can learn to set realistic, achievable goals for themselves and see practice as a means to reaching their goals. Below is a list of several time standards that apply to different levels of swimmers.

All time standard charts have been checked carefully and are believed accurate, but errors do occur.  The times listed in meet information sheets will govern in any case for entry into a meet.

Southeastern Swimming Time Standards

2010 - 8 & Under Time Standards

2009-2012 National Age Group Motivational Times

2010-2011 Short Course Southeastern Championships

2010 - Long Course Southeastern Championships

2010 - Age Group Sectionals Time Standards

We have the following information concerning national time standards for 2009-10 and beyond:

  •   Standards for Junior National Short and Long Course Championships and Short Course National Championships are the same as in 2008-09. The Summer National Championship will use the U.S. Open time standards including 18&U standards and bonus time standards. Times achieved since July 1, 2009 up to the meet entry due date will be accepted for the summer meets (including times swum in technical suits). There will be no U.S. Open again until 2012.

  • Standards for 2012 Olympic Trials will be set in the fall of 2010, allowing for a year of data for times swum in non-technical suits to be reviewed and analyzed.
